I am in the process of reading “A New Earth” by Eckhart Tolle. I am trying to read as fast as I can as Oprah’s class begins tonight. I found myself on the pages yesterday and had to share. In a section marked, “The Peace That Passes All Understanding,” on page 57, he writes, “Whenever tragic loss occurs, you either resist or you yield. Some people become bitter or deeply resentful; others become compassionate, wise, and loving. Yielding means inner acceptance of what is. You are open to life.”
I was so struck by that statement. That has truly been my experience, I could have become bitter, jaded, angry and yet I found more love, more compassion, more contentment with my life and all that I do have. And, I am far more grateful than I ever could have dreamed as I write about in “Journey.”
It is so cool to find oneself in someone else’s words. I love it when I do and it helps remind me that someone else knows, shares and/or understands “my” story. We are truly not alone on this journey. We are all connected.
Blessings,
Kamin
